How to gain assertiveness for increased confidence and success - half day

Being assertive is a key business skill. The ability to get your message across by being neither aggressive nor passive is essential when forming and maintaining relationships. It’s all about getting your ideas heard by the right people, at the right time and in the right way.

Whether you are dealing with a boss, colleague, staff member or senior management, your ability to persuade and influence is crucial.  Do you concern yourself with pleasing and not offending others to the detriment of your own needs?  This seminar will help you say what you want and help you state your needs clearly and effectively.

 

How to manage stress successfully - half day

Stress is a part of everyday life but how we manage our own stress is the key to successfully living with stress. The word “stress” is often viewed negatively. This workshop will help you put a positive management spin on stress. It will help you identify the stressors, develop an awareness of the danger signs, help you manage it and make it work for you.

 

Transitions to leadership and management - full day

Moving into Management for the first time can be daunting. This practical workshop will give new Managers the skills they need to 'step up' to being highly effective in their new role. It will cover the core management skills needed to become a successful Manager and Leader. This workshop is part of MBE's Leadership and development programme which includes pre workshop preparation, a full day workshop plus follow up coaching by internet, phone or email to support implementation of action plans completed during the workshop.

Inadequate cash flow is one of the major constraints to growth, and a common reason for business failure. This workshop aims to provide practical techniques in budgeting and cash flow management that will see you through the seasonal “lows” and “highs”. Learn the importance of budgeting, the process of preparing a cash flow budget, cash flow forecasting and planning, common problems and mistakes in budgeting and how to use the budget information to improve your business performance.

 

How to understand and live with generational differences - half day

A key challenge for today's Managers is addressing the generational change in the work environment. An aging population, new attitudes to work and increasing options for workers, mean that attracting, engaging, motivating and retaining staff is an increasingly difficult challenge for Managers to address. This workshop will provide some helpful tips and tools!

How to manage conflict - full day

Conflict is all around us, but most people try to avoid it because they lack basic conflict management skills. Rather than react to conflict on a purely emotional level, learn to manage disputes and disagreements positively and proactively.

This conflict management training workshop will teach you to recognise the causes of interpersonal conflict. You will also become aware of your emotional triggers to prevent explosive situations. This workshop trains you to learn new strategies of conflict management that will improve your work and personal life.

 

Improving workplace communications - understanding your own communication style - full day

Poor communication stifles performance, costs $$$’s and frustrates management and workers alike.  Learn the effective and proven written, spoken and non verbal techniques.  You will learn about your communication style and strengths and how to use them to improve work relationships.
